2. What type of balance is used in the metamorphosis and what is the point of focus? Does either change between the steps or do they remain the same throughout the steps? Be specific in answers.

Edward,
You first worked with an asymmetrical balanced image (heavier on the right) then transition to a scenic image that is balanced in the middle. The first image, as I just mentioned, is heavier on the right. The letter ‘E’ (which was cleverly turned and manipulated into a sort of building) was leaning more towards the right ball. I’m not sure if your initials were a part of your image (probably not) but it also adds weight to the right side, with addition to the darker colors used in contrast to the white circles. It’s obvious that the letter ‘E’ structured was the main focus not only because of its sheer size, but because of the color. It really contrasts well against the lighter greens and pulls the viewer’s eyes towards that direction. Throughout the middle of your transitions, the balance remains the same as the image fades but changes completely when the new image is seen. Your last images show an image of a lake with a very subtle background and the birds as the main focus. Again, you use color to your advantage to not only catch the viewer’s attention, but to help balance the overall image. The balance shifts from the first off balanced, slightly heavy on the right image to a complete center balance. The white birds are the main focus and are in the middle of the images. The details on both ends seem to balance the middle of the image. The whiteness of the birds also brings our eyes to the center, giving the illusion of balance. Good job on your project.
5. What do you think of the quality of the design and composition? Is there enough contrast between each of the seven images to get a true feeling of chromatic metamorphosis, explain? If not also explain?
Their is alot of contrast between each of the seven images. I do feel that a chromatic metamorphosis is being achieved.
How is perspective used in the overall composition? What type of perspective is used and how does it enhance the composition and/or the transition between steps?
In all of the images except image G, the letter “E” turned on its side, provides perspective. The lines below the E pull the viewers eye to a focal point and provides the image with a 3-d feel. As the images progress and the letter “E” begins to fade, the perspective leads the views eye towards the ducks in the middle of the image and is in perfect sync with the other points in the image.
Question 1- Edward
Name three ways using color enhances the chromatic metamorphosis from sequence to sequence?
The colors used in the first image of this sequence work very well together. The way the darker green is used on the bottom and get lighter with each level toward the top makes it seem balanced. The black of the letter E and shades of grey enhance the hues of green by adding a good contrast. The changes in saturation throughout the sequence are used in steady increments which makes the flow of the sequence seem natural. I would have liked to have seen more color in the final image. It’s a great photograph but rather lacking in color. Overall, color is used very well in your project. Great job Edward.

1. Name three ways using color enhances the chromatic metamorphosis from sequence to sequence?
In the first image you used colors that worked really well together. The black and white color of the letter makes the M stand out a lot. The darker colors give the image perspective. As the sequence goes along, the opacity of the first image lessens as the last image starts to come into view. In some of the sequences, the image looks the same. Maybe make the transparency go a bit smoother throughout the translation? It seems to be very abrupt at times. Otherwise, I like the ending image, though it seems a bit dark compared to the beginning image.

4.Describe what is potentially happening between the steps. How effective is the continuity between the seven steps, explain? If the continuity is not effective why is it not working?
Image starts a animated background with a rectangular building / sideways E then it slowly turns into a lake with water fowl on the surface. The slides 1 through 7 effectively show the image transforming from animated world to the real word.
